THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA - September 8, 2011
Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, today announced that the Hearst Electronics Group's Electronic Products, EEM, and ICMaster have partnered with Digi-Key's TechXchangeSM online engineering community.
Hearst Electronics Group has committed to adopting TechXchange as its only electronics-based community forum. Editors from Hearst's electronic-focused publications will participate in TechXchange in order to provide the engineering and procurement community with qualified input and aid in design or electronics inquiries.
"Digi-Key's social aggregation strategy is in full bloom with this exclusive community partnership with Hearst Electronics group," said Tony Harris, chief marketing officer, Digi-Key Corporation. "This partnership enables Digi-Key's TechXchange community platform to have direct access to engineers worldwide and in China as TechXchange's branding presence will be known to hundreds of thousands of 21IC users. With the support of Hearst Electronics Group and its broad audience, TechXchange will increase its reputation as a credible, informative resource for the engineering communities we currently serve."
Hearst Electronics Group provides new product information, ebooks, forums, webcasts, videos and more internationally in China (21IC.com and EP China) and European nations (ElectronicSpecifier.com). The group's total worldwide audience is over 1.2 million. Hearst brands include Electronic Products, ARM, EEM, eeTECHBriefs, StockCheck, Embedded Developer, ICMaster, and more.
"We are delighted to work with Digi-Key in providing a forum for our audience to ask questions, share insights and find solutions peer to peer through TechXchange. Digi-Key continues to bring new and innovative products to the design engineering community worldwide to help engineers be more efficient in their jobs, and we are honored to be Digi-Key's partner," said William Barron, VP & Publishing Director, Hearst Business Media.
Digi-Key's TechXchange is a user-to-user forum where design engineers and hobbyists can discuss technology, products, designs, and more, while participating in discussions, asking questions of the community or of subject matter experts. TechXchange is organized by six specific technology-based groups: the Energy Harvesting, Lighting, Microcontroller, Power, Sensors, and Wireless communities. There is also a general community for queries which do not fit the six previously mentioned technologies.
