Image of Semtech's HS2950P.M/HS0520C.N HotSwitch® for System Protection Semtech’s HotSwitch is an integrated power switch connected with the main power rail to turn a load on and off as needed by an application. It is an integrated protection device that can replace conventional fuses and other protection devices. HotSwitch detects electrical surges and provides robust security to the downstream subsystem by gracefully disconnecting the load from the power source. Depending on the application, it also can incorporate overvoltage, short-circuit, inrush current, and thermal shutdown protection features.

  • High surge capability:
    • IEC 61000-4-5: 40 A (8 µs / 20 µs)
    • IEC 61000-4-5: 2 kV (1.2 µs / 50 µs)
  • Adjustable overvoltage protection and soft-start
  • Constant surge clamping voltage
