Wurth's snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitors are available with high capacitances and voltages, and are also available as non-polar versions. These are provided for the standard application with +85°C and 1000 hours, as are components with up to +125°C and an extended service life of up to 10,000 hours. In an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, the cathode consists of wet electrolytic whereas the anode is made of an aluminum foil. An Al2O3 oxidization layer on the anode foil operates as the dielectric. In comparison to aluminum polymer capacitors, the aluminum electrolytic capacitors are offered up to higher capacitance values (up to 3300 µF) and higher voltage ranges (up to 450 VDC).

Aluminum polymer capacitors are widely recognized as an innovation in the field of charge storage devices. It is here that Wurth Electronics offers parts in V-chip SMD and radial THD with extremely low ESR values, high capacitance, long service life, and voltages currently up to 63 VDC. Aluminum polymer capacitors contain solid conductive polymer instead of wet electrolytic.
